1. Scope
This policy explains how Vigilant Care Services Pty Ltd (ABN 88 675 728 551) handles personal information when you visit this website, make an enquiry or engage with our services.
We aim to handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. Participant and service records may also be subject to NDIS requirements and our internal privacy, consent and records-management procedures.
2. What we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, contact details, preferred contact method, relationship to a participant and the information you choose to include in an enquiry.
If you become a participant, worker or service contact, we may need further information that is reasonably necessary to provide safe support, administer services and meet legal or regulatory obligations. We will explain why it is needed.
3. Sensitive information
Health, disability and other sensitive information is collected only where it is reasonably necessary and with consent, or where another lawful basis applies. Please avoid including detailed health information in an initial website enquiry unless it is necessary.
4. How we use information
We may use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess whether we can safely meet support needs, plan and deliver agreed services, communicate with authorised people, improve our operations and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We only share it where you have authorised us, where it is required to deliver or administer a service, or where disclosure is permitted or required by law.
5. Website forms, storage and security
When you submit an enquiry form, the information is sent through our website server to our Zoho Mail account. The website does not keep enquiry details in a separate database. Zoho Mail stores the delivered email in our business mailbox.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Overseas access and service providers
Some technology providers may process or store data outside Australia. Where this applies, we consider privacy, security and contractual safeguards when selecting and managing those providers.
7. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity and there can be limited circumstances where access is restricted by law.
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first so we can respond. You can also learn about privacy rights or make a complaint through the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
